Description

The most surprising thing about Gibbs is the concrete paved portion at left, separated by a row of bollards: it's a sidepath! Although there are plenty of bike racks along Maryland, Gibbs is the designated bike route through the Square. (The E-W collectors on either side have outside bike lanes, no parking.)

Of course, you'll notice that "the right hook" is just as easy with a sidepath as with lanes. At least there's no cyclist-tripping bollard right at the sidepath entrance. I may be mistaken, but there's no obvious way for a cyclist to make the "illegal left turn" shown in the sign.

A lease has finally been signed with a supermarket; they'll be on the right, with main entrances facing the collector road on the other side of the block.

Oh yeah: "Elmo" was advertising a new tanning parlor. The indignity. (Besides, I wouldn't want to remind potential customers that they'll be lobster red after a visit.)
