Русский: Снегомерные съемки проводятся на водосборах различных водных объектов для оценки запасов влаги, заключенных в снежном покрове. С этой целью в снежных шурфах производится описание стратификации снежного покрова и измерение его плотности. Снегомерные работы являются частью воднобалансовых наблюдений. Исследование элементов водного баланса в динамике позволяет лучше понять, как изменения климата влияют на водные объекты. Работы выполняются сотрудниками "Российской научной экспедиции на Шпицбергене, ААНИИ".
English: Snow surveys are carried out on the catchment areas of various water bodies to assess the moisture reserves contained in the snow cover. For this purpose, a description of the stratification of the snow cover and a measurement of its density are carried out in snow pits. Snow measurements are part of water balance observations. The study of the elements of the water balance in dynamics makes it possible to better understand how climate change affects water bodies.
