Ahmad*, from Syria, is 11 years-old. He's now living with his family in a makeshift tent shelter in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley. He hasn't been to school for 2 years because of the conflict, but is now on his way to class for a few hours every day thanks to the UK working in partnership with Save the Children and the Government of Lebanon. "When I first came here I couldn't understand anything", says Ahmad. "But now I've been back in school for 2 weeks, I'm learning some Lebanese and some English, and catching up with maths. "The best thing about being back at school is that I can study again. I want to be a doctor when I'm older, and I really like to study and learn". Many Lebanese schools are now running 2 shifts a day, providing 'catch-up' accelerated learning classes for Syrian children who've missed out on their education due to the conflict.
