George Erich Dies, Ex-Allentown Mayor. Allentown, Pennsylvania; November 9, 1947 (Associated Press) George F. Erich, mayor of this city from 1940 to 1944, died here shortly after noon today, the result of a heart attack he suffered while attending church. He was 70 years old. A coal and building supply dealer in this city for more than 50 years, Mr. Erich was a life long resident here. He is survived by his wife and by a. daughter, Mrs. Lillian Wether hold of this city. Private funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.
