[edit]

Sudden Death Of New Brunswick Man. On October 12 the city of New Brunswick, New Jersey, was shocked to hear of the death of Ex-Mayor George A. Viehmann at Braircliff, New York. Mr. Viehmann, who was president of the New Brunswick Fire Insurance Company, left this city on October 1st for Chicago to transact business for his company. Taken ill in Chicago, he against his physician's orders undertook the trip to Braircliff, traveling with a temperature of 104. Upon reaching there he was put to bed, and prompt medical attention given him, but pneumonia set in and he grew worse until the end came within forty-eight hours. Mrs. Viehmann was at his bedside. He is survived by a wife and three children, Mrs. Ruth Gladding, wife of A L. Gladding of Lincoln, Miss Mary Viehmann, George A. Viehmann Jr., and three sisters. The above was taken from the New Brunswick Sunday Times of October 13, 1918.
