Dansk: Geodætisk bredde Φ er vinklen mellem ækvator og normalen til (linien vinkelret på) ellipsoiden gennem det pågældende punkt.
Geocentrisk bredde Φ’ er vinklen (målt i centrum) mellem ækvator og forbindelseslinien til punktet på ellipsoiden. I specialtilfældet at ellipsoiden er en kugle vil de to være bredder være ens.English: Geodetic Latitude Φ is the angle between the equatorial plane and the normal to the ellipsoid through the point in question.
Geocentric Latitude Φ’ is the angle between the equatorial plane and the line to the point in question and with the vertex at the ellipsoids center. In the special case where the ellipsoid is a sphere, the two angles are identical. |
