Summary[edit]

Description
English: Postcard of the general hospital in Centralia, Washington. Built in 1890 as a preparatory school by the Northwest Baptist convention on the hill east of downtown, it was originally known as the Grace Seminary and gave Seminary hill its name. The school struggled throughout its short existence due to lack of funding and the building's difficult to reach location and it was abandoned by the Baptists by 1903 for a school closer to their downtown church. The building served as the city's hospital until about 1920 after which it was left to deteriorate until finally being razed in 1938. The National Guard Armory was built on the site.
