Description General, Staff, and Infantry (1810-1813), Plate XII, Uniform of the Army of the United States, illustrated, from 1774 to 1889. Washington, D.C.: Quartermaster General of the Army of the United States, 1890. Note: These color plates were part of a series produced by the US Army in the late 1880s to document the uniforms of the American soldier from the Revolutionary War to 1888. The artwork was done by H.A. Ogden. This illustration reflects the appearance of the US regular army in the early days of the War of 1812.
