SOUTHERN XEW YORK 1457 Laura \irginia Cram was the daughter ofJacob Cram and Lydia Tucker. ■Jacob Cramof Exeter. New Hampshire, was a descendantof an ancestor who began the planting ofNew Hampshire with John Wheelwright andWilliam \\entworth, the kinsman of Straf-ford. The Exeter combination of 1639. asoriginal and equitable as the Ma\-flower com-pact, bound John Cram and the otherbrethren of the church of Exeter to erect andset up amongst us such government as shallbe to our best serving and agreeable to thewill of God. Jacob Cram was bom at Exe-ter, where he was a classmate of Daniel Web-ster. in 1783, and died in 1S69. He was sixthin descent from John Cram, the first of thefamily in America. Settled in Exeter. XewHampshire. He w^as the son of Joseph Cramand Anne Brown. Lydia Tucker was thedaughter of Captain Daniel Tucker, of Port-land. Maine, a celebrated privateersman ofthe war of 1812. and of Lydia Crabtree. bomMay 29. 1790. Lydia Tucker was born May29, 1790. died June 19. 181
