Description
English: All areas of daily life were becoming diversified in Ankara. In addition to the pools of Orman Çiftliği (Forest Farm) and Çubuk Dam, Gençlik Parkı (Youth Park) almost brought a sea to the middle of Ankara plain.

Swimming and rowing races were being organized and sandals with sails were travelling the calm waters. Almost 80 thousand trees were planted in the park.

“Ankaralılar için artık bir deniz hasreti bahis uzun yıllar mevzu değildir. Ankara Gençlik Parkı havuzu motörleri, botları, kotraları ve kayıkları ile adeta ufak bir deniz haline gelmiştir. Gençlik Parkı Ankaralıların bir taraftan yüzme, diğer taraftan kürek çekme, kotra kullanma gibi bütün su sporları ihtiyacını karşılamaktadır.” (1)
Radyo dergisi, zaman zaman Gençlik Parkı’na, haberlerle, yazılarla, fotoğraflarla sütunlarında yer ayırırdı.
Gündelik hayatın alanları çoğalıyor, çeşitleniyordu Ankara’da. Orman Çiftliği’nin havuzları, Çubuk Barajı’nın gölü derken, Gençlik Parkı’yla deniz bozkırın ortasına taşınmıştı.

Yüzme yarışları, kürek yarışları düzenleniyor, yelkeni açılmış sandallar sakin sularında yol alıyordu. Parka 80 bine yakın fidan dikilmişti.
