Description Das imposante Löwentor, benannt nach den beiden Löwenfiguren über dem Wappen, befindet sich auf der Nordseite des Gelben Schlosses, welches im Jahre 1704 als Witwensitz für Herzogin Dorothea Sophia Dux Saxoniae Landgrafia Hasso Homburgiae erbaut wurde. 1945 wurde das Gebäude teilweise zerstört; nach dem II. Weltkrieg jedoch wieder aufgebaut. Das gelbe Schloß befindet sich an der Ecke: Kollegiengasse/ Grüner Markt. Hier wurde 1761 August von Kotzebue (1761-1819) geboren.
