Description
English: Memorial on Wigan Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield to those employees of Garswood Hall Colliery who fought in the two world wars. Consists of a rough stone obelisk on plinth with inscription:
GARSWOOD HALL / COLLIERIES / INSTITUTE / IN / GRATEFUL MEMORY / OF / THOSE WHO FOUGHT/ FOR THEIR COUNTRY / 1914 - 1918 / 1939 - 1945
