@ Riverside District, Suzhou (水郷地帯, 蘇州)

虎丘付近を散策中、橋の途中で撮影。 日本もそうですが、観光名所にはゴミ問題がつきものです。電車の中とかでもゴミを置きっぱなしにしたりする国民性みたいなので、もしかしたら地元の人が出しているゴミかもしれませんが、、、せっかくの美しい町なので気がかりです。

Suzhou (simplified Chinese: 苏州; traditional Chinese: 蘇州; pinyin: Sūzhōu; ancient name: 吳) is a city on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and on the shores of Lake Taihu in the province of Jiangsu, China. The city is renowned for its beautiful stone bridges, pagodas, and meticulously designed gardens, which has become a great tourist attraction. Suzhou has also been an important centre for China's silk industry since the Song Dynasty (960-1279), and continues to hold that prominent position today. Classical gardens in Suzhou were added to the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997 and 2000. 蘇州（そしゅう、 中国語 スージョウ Sūzhōu）は、中華人民共和国江蘇省東南部に位置する地級市（地区クラスの市）。古くから絹織物で発展した国家歴史文化名城であり、上海市に隣接する地の利があり、現在も省の経済的中心である。 古来、北京と杭州を結ぶ京杭大運河が通るなど、水運もよく利用されている。北部の太倉、常熟、連雲港の長江沿いの地域には、水運を生かせる大規模工場が作られている。運河による水運が生活に溶け込んでいることから、旧市街地及び周辺の水郷地帯を含めて、「東洋のヴェニス（ヴェネツィア）｣と呼ばれる。
