Description

Ganoderma lobatum (Schwein.) G.F. Atk.

Image location: Creve Coeur Park, Maryland Heights, Missouri, USA

Upon closer inspection of the first photo it looks like there could be a spattering of spores from the fungus on the tree. I do believe that Ischnoderma should have a white spore deposit. All Ganoderma have a rust brown spore color.
