| Description |
English: Game larder, Tottenham House deer park, Savernake (1) Shown but not identified on the map, this building appears now to be used for storing straw or some sort of fodder. Its original use may well have been as a store to hang game, deer in this case, until it has matured to its ideal condition for the table. There is no right of way across the deer park and most of the square is inaccessible. Fortunately a footpath leads to the southern boundary of the estate and it is possible to walk around the boundary to well within the square. I confirmed my position by means of a compass and the 1:50K map. |
