Description

Médaillon de Galla Placidia

  • Médaillon de Galla Placidia, frappé à Ravenne en 425. Il faisait partie, avec lemédaillon d'Honorius, d'un trésor monétaire, le Trésor de Velp (Pays-Bas), enfoui peu après 425 et découvert fortuitement en 1715. Ces deux médaillons d'or aux riches montures, étaient montées en collier. Acquis le 16 janvier 1883.
