Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Haig and Joffre at Chantilly, France, 1915. Field Marshal (Earl) Haig (1861-1928) and the French general Joseph Joffre (1852-1931) walking out of a French military-controlled building in Chantilly, France in December 1915. It is probable that this was taken on the occasion of the second Inter-Allied Conference at Chantilly. There is a French press stamp.

The conference, which took place not long after Haig became the British Commander-in-Chief, agreed that in future Allied attacks should be more co-ordinated.
[Original reads: 'Dec.1915. Le Gal. Joffre et le Gal. Douglas Haig. Chantilly.']
