English: A captured German Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 (W.Nr. 681497, "White 11") of 5./JG 4 at St. Trond airfield, Belgium, circa 1 January 1945. This aircraft was flown during on 1 January 1945 by Corporal Walter Wagner who was hit by flak during the attack over St. Trond airfield. The engine died and he had to make an emergency landing. The weapons have obviously been removed. The photo was taken by the resident USAAF 404th Fighter Group.
Deutsch: Eine Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 (W.Nr. 681497, "weiße 11") der 5./JG 4 in St. Trond, Belgien, circa am 1. Januar 1945. Die Maschine wurde während der Operation "Bodenplatte" im Januar 1945 vom Gefreiten Walter Wagner geflogen. Wagner wurde bei dem Angriff auf den amerikanischen Flugplatz von Flak getroffen, der Motor setzte aus und er konnte auf dem Flugplatz notlanden. Die Waffen wurden offensichtlich ausgebaut. Das Foto wurde nach der Landung der Maschine von der in St. Trond stationierten 404th Fighter Group der USAAF aufgenommen. |
