English: Cross section of Furutaka class heavy cruisers after reconstruction at frame 178.

Legend:

  • red - NVNC steel armor plates: main belt, middledeck and uptakes cover
  • blue - HT steel plates
  • black - Dücol steel plates: new bulges
  • green - other construction parts: funel uptakes, supports and side keels
  • LWL-O - 2/3 trial displacement watterline of Furutaka class after completition
  • LWL - 2/3 trial displacement watterline of Furutaka class after reconstruction
  • L1..L7 - longitudinal member 1 to 7
  • WTC - watertight compartment
  • T - section filled with watertight steel tubes to increace buoyancy

  • černá - nová protitorpédová obšívka z Dücol oceli
