More detail I've gone mostly for pale cultivar Narcissus - Thalia, Segovia etc. The Viburnum carlesii and dwarf Syringa will be filling the air with fragrance soon and the Teucrium would have been covered in blue flowers if the winter hadn't bitten the ends of all the branches off. Maybe it'll try again later. Helleborus x ericsmithii (pictured elsewhere here) has been moved again because it was swamped by Corydalis flexuosa where it was (no, really). It's still weak but I'm optimistic. What else? Phlomis crinita did not suffer the winter well. I've had to cut away most of the top growth which was completely blasted. Penstemon barbatus there has come through well however, although looking a bit sad right now. The P.palmeri I'm not so sure about. Earlier there were a lot of crocuses which i didn't get a chance to photograph (C.sieberi Tricolor was especially good), and there's an Iris lazica in there too which I hope will be flowering this time next year. |
