Description
English: The photo was handed down to me from my grandfather who is standing on the back left hand.Photo originally taken at the occasion of the silver wedding anniversary of Friedrich v. Kühlwetter and Adele Christine Nada Frederika Shadler (24.7.1870 - 13.1.1950), married 2.9.1893. They had five children, of which one child, Hertha died as a child age five. The others are on the photo. (Back standing from left to right:) Friedrich Hubert Maria Sydney, Delie, Ilse. Photo of Adalbert on the table. Adalbert died during the battle of the Somme in 1916. Friedrich Felix Maria Hubert v. Kühlwetter whose wedding anniversary is celebrated here, was a Kontreadmiral in the German navy. From 1914 to 1917 he was the highest ranking German officer in Turkey with the title of a pascha. He wrote several artikels and books on the German navy and a book "Skagerrak" about the battle of Jutland.

Delie v. Kühlwetter became a famous violonist and founded the first Womens' Chamber Orchester in Berlin. She died 1943 from tuberculosis.
