Summary[edit]

Description
English: 1707 Prussian thaler, silver, 39 mm, 21 g. Coin designed by Prussian mint artists. Friedrich I of Prussia (1657-1713) of the Hohenzollern dynasty was (as Friedrich III) Elector of Brandenburg (1688-1713) and the first King of Prussia (1701-1713). In 1707 Prussia was part of the Holy Roman Empire. This coin, one in the YiShin Silver Collection, was found in northern China, probably brought by the Germans to the Qingdao treaty port in Shantung Province, not too far to the immediate west where the anti-Christian anti-imperalist Yihetuan Boxer Rebellion exploded at the turn of the 20th century.
