Description

The French submarine chaser L'Inconstant (P636) standing by for a helicopter transfer of two liaison officers off Tourane, Indochina, circa in 1954.

L'Inconstant (P636) was served in the U.S. Navy as PC-1171 1943-1946 and was laid up in the Pacific Reserve Fleet. It was transferred to France in 1951 and became L'Inconstant (P 636) for duty in Indochina (Vietnam). In 1956 to was again transferred to the Khmer Republic (Cambodia) as E-312. The ship reached the the Philippines in 1975 and finally became Negros Oriental (PS 26). It was decommissioned on 29 March 1990 and sold for scrap.
