Summary[edit]

Description
English: Plaque with the year of rebuilding on the right side of the gate to the driveway leading to the John Edward Frampton Plantation House, now occupied by the Lowcountry Visitor Center and Museum, on the southeast side of US 17 just east of Exit 33 off of I-95 in Point South, South Carolina. The house was originally a pre-colonial plantation house granted to the Frampton family by the King of England sometime in the 18th Century (no info on which king), then burned by Union Soldiers lead by General Sherman during a Civil War campaign in 1865, and rebuilt in 1868.
