Notes
  • Type: Fragment with chef de piece
  • Inscribed: Stamps at one end of piece; On front: "J.CHEVALLIE" within box in yellow (twice) and blue flower. On back: "MANUFACTURE DE TOILES PEINTES & MOUCHOIRS DE LEMASURIER.BAYON & COMP. A. ANGERS.BON.TEINT" in black in elongated oval. There is a small medallion in the center of this stamp "N./D 98". The mark is indistinct and the 98 looks as if it has been put in by hand. There is also indication that a stamp in grey was formerly on this fabric. Only one edge of that stamp remains.
