Summary
[edit]DescriptionFrælsi, Freedom, a Sculpture in Tvøroyri made by Palle Julsgart.JPG |
English: The title of this sculpture is Frælsi, which is the Faroese word for Freedom. The title is inspired of a Faroese song with the same title, which Eyðun Nolsøe from the band Frændur has written and composed. The sculpture is made by sculpturor Palle Julsgart, a Danish artist, who has lived in Tvøroyri, Faroe Islands since 1985. He is the owner of Art Gallery Oyggin. Oyggin is the Faroese word for Island and refers to Suðuroy. Julsgart has used columnar basalt in the foundament of this sculpture.
