Description

Drawing of the Midway (later The Arcade), west side of Fourteenth Street, NW between Irving Street and Park Road, from an ad in the 2/13/10 "Washington Times".

Originally intended as an indoor amusement park, the Arcade apparently served as an Eastern Market-style market for most of its life. DC USA is now on the site.

The name of the still-standing Parcade Apartments near the intersection of Park Road and Hiatt Place appears to refer to this building.
