Description
Deutsch: Fest, dunkel, schmierig, klumpig: möglicherweise handelt es sich hier um sogenanntes fossiles Watt.

Die Schalen von Herzmuscheln seinen teilweise in dem Material eingebettet zu sein. Es ist sowohl denkbar, dass sie ursprünglicher Teil des fossilen Watts waren. Es ist aber auch denkbar, dass sie sie nach einer Freilegung des alten Wattbodens dort eieingegraben haben.

Die Aufnahme entstand auf der Seeseite im östlichen Teil der Nordseeinsel Wangerooge. Solche Klumpen werden dort seit mindestens 2020 öfters angetroffen. In dem hier photographierten Bereich waren sie sehr häufig und schienen fest mit dem Boden darunter verwachsen zu sein. Es war aber keine Schichtung zu erkennen. Möglicherweise ist der alte Wattboden mit ungleichmäßig erodiert worden und die tieferen Stellen haben sich kurz darauf mit Sand angefüllt.

Die Insel Wangerooge hat über die Jahrhundert ihre Lage geändert. Sie ist zum einen von Westen nach Osten gewandert, zum anderen soll sie sich auch langsam Richtung Küste, nach Süden also bewegt haben.

Ähnliche Fundstücke lagen auch wenige Tage später ganz in der Nähe am Sandstrand.
