Description
English: Railway Mail Service clerks in the elevator at the St. Johns Park Freight Terminal, New York City, check lock numbers in order to prepare receipts for the registers. The elevator is loaded with about 9,000 pounds of gold on six platforms, each carrying three crates, which will fit into two trucks. The gold is to be sent to the United States Bullion Depository.
