Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A former motel on the southwest corner of the Mill Road bridge over the Carmans River in Yaphank, New York. Since at least the 1980's it has been used as a homeless shelter for US War Veterans. Admittedly, I forgot whether it was actually called the "Yaphank Motel" or not (it probably wasn't), but I know it was an active motel that went down the hill in the 1970's years after the Long Island Expressway was built. Interstate status and motorist service signs in an earlier time couldn't prevented that from happening.
