| Description |
English: Foot and Mouth sign A relic from the 2001 outbreak. The path would have only been closed for a few weeks, as the government in Scotland handled the outbreak far better than in England, without the hysterical mass closure of rural areas not at risk (arable crops and peat bogs cannot catch the lurgy! Similarly, there was a strange belief in the miraculous powers of golf club membership). This was not the last 2001 sign that I encountered. |
