| Description |
English: The Fokker Dr.I Dreidecker (triplane) was a World War I fighter aircraft built by Fokker-Flugzeugwerke. The Dr.I saw widespread service in the spring of 1918. It became renowned as the aircraft in which Manfred von Richthofen gained his last 20 victories.
Since 2004, this aircraft is on loan to the Stampe & Vertongen Museum (Deurne-Antwerp) from the Early Birds Foundation at Lelystad. It is a replica that was built in the USA using original plans. It is fitted with a 165hp Warner engine.
Nederlands: De Fokker Dr.I Dreidecker (driedekker) was een jachtvliegtuig uit de Eerste Wereldoorlog, gebouwd door Fokker. Het ontwerp kwam van Reinhold Platz. De Dr.I is vooral beroemd geworden als het toestel van de Rode Baron, Manfred von Richthofen.
Dit toestel wordt sinds 2004 door zijn eigenaar, de Stichting Vroege Vogels met basis Lelystad uitgeleend aan het Stampe en Vertongen Museum museum. Het is een Fokker replica die begin de jaren negentig in Amerika werd gebouwd. Als krachtbron werd een Warner stermotor van 165pk gebruikt. |
