| Description |
We went to Birka yesterday by boat. The trip there took 1 hour 45 minutes with M/S Victoria, on the lake Mälaren. We started in Stockholm and headed west to the old city Birca on the island Björkö (Birch island). Birca was a Viking city in the years 750 to 970, the very first city in Sweden! What happened to the place and why people left is still a mystery! A stream of photos from our day will follow and you can enjoy if you want to. |
