Description

December 15, 2010.

For the first time in years, a joint brigade-wide exercise was conducted in northern Israel between the 401 Armored Corps Brigade and the Nachal infantry brigade, in order to maintain readiness and fitness of the brigades.

Artillery and Engineering Corps forces also took part in the exercise.

The IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, watched the exercise along with the GOC Central Command, and the Commander of the Ground Forces, and praised the troops: "This is a central and important exercise. The brigades have demonstrated great professional capabilities, and have trained proper integration of the various forces."

The Chief of Staff also emphasized to the soldiers the gravity of threats and the importance that the IDF prepare for these threats.

דובר צה"ל מוסר כי השבוע התקיים בפעם הראשונה מזה שנים תרגיל חטיבתי משולב בו השתתפו חטיבת הנח"ל וחטיבת השריון "עקבות הפלדה".

התרגיל שנערך בצפון הארץ בפיקודו של מפקד אוגדת "עוצבת הפלדה", תת-אלוף אגאי יחזקאל, דימה שיתוף פעולה נרחב במתווה לחימה על מנת לשמור על רמת המוכנות והכשירות של החטיבות.

בתרגיל לקחו חלק כוחות חי"ר, שריון, ארטילריה והנדסה.

מפקדי החטיבות, אלוף משנה אמיר אבולעפיה ואלוף משנה עינב שלו, אשר החלו דרכם כלוחמים באותן החטיבות, הובילו את התרגיל רחב ההיקף, המסכם תקופת אימונים ארוכה ומורכבת.


ביום רביעי , (15.12.10) ערך ראש המטה הכללי, רב-אלוף גבי אשכנזי, ביקור בתרגיל אליו הצטרפו מפקד פיקוד המרכז, אלוף אבי מזרחי ומפקד זרוע היבשה, אלוף סמי תורג'מן.

במהלך התרגיל צפה ראש המטה הכללי בתרחיש המרכזי ושיבח את הכוחות המתאמנים: "זהו תרגיל חשוב ומרכזי. החטיבות הפגינו יכולת מקצועית טובה ותרגלו שילוב של כוחות חי"ר, שריון, ארטילריה והנדסה".

הרמטכ"ל הדגיש בפני חיילים עימם שוחח במהלך התרגיל את חשיבות האימונים והמוכנות לאיומים השונים.
