Español: Firma de Pedro Francisco Lira Rencoret (Santiago, Chile, 17 de mayo de 1845 - 20 de abril de 1912) fue un destacado pintor y crítico artístico chileno. Lira fue un extenso promotor del arte en el país, organizó algunas de las primeras exposiciones de arte en Chile y es considerado como uno de los artistas de mayor importancia para el desarrollo de la pintura en Chile, dando origen a múltiples organizaciones y convenciones de arte especializado. Su éxito le permitió alcanzar galardones en la Francia del siglo XIX y, debido a esto y a otros elementos de importancia, es que el pintor es citado por Antonio Romera como uno de los cuatro «grandes maestros de la pintura chilena. |
