Description
Deutsch: Menschliche Fingerkuppen sind mit einer geriffelten Oberfläche ausgestattet, welche durch Reibung ein effizientes Zupacken ermöglichen. Das Muster wird durch Papillarleisten auf der Epidermis gebildet und durch unterschiedliche Strukturen (das Bild zeigt einige unterschiedliche Papillarleisten-Anordnungen meines Zeigefingers) entsteht ein einzigartiger Fingerabdruck.
English: Using fluorescent color, the picture above shows my index finger's print under blacklight. Since epidermal ridges form different structures (bifurcation, short break, island, delta and core) on the fingertip surface, every human fingerprint is unique.
