| Description |
English: Ferries coming and going, Portsmouth (8) Two Isle of Wight Ferries pass each other by The Point on the left of the image. The approaching ferry had been travelling slowly to allow the first ship across its bows, enabling it to pass on the right. Now the arriving vessel is moving at greater speed to make its own entrance to the terminal, out of sight to our left.
This is No 8 of a sequence of images taken from the second deck of the Spinnaker Tower, timed at 13:09 GMT. The dullness of the day was probably an advantage in that reflections from the angled glass windows of the tower observation platform were easily controlled. |
