| Description |
English: Farmland near Y Ffor. Looking north. The buildings on the right are marked as a factory on the OS 1:25,000 map, but there is no indication as to what it does. The '40s map shows that the lane on which the factory stands used to be the main road from Pwllheli to Caernarfon, but it has been straightened at this point - the A499 now follows the line of the fence in the foreground. The hills in the background are Gyrn Ddu, on the left, and [I think] Moel Bronmiod on the right.
Update March 07 [from Alan Fryer]: The Factory marked on the OS map was originally on the line of the main road. It is now the home of Welsh Lady Preserves. It was formerly a prisoner of war camp for Italian soldiers in World War II. |
