English: Assanji Mohammad and nine other Farah contractors who donated over $5,000 worth of items to the Farah City Orphanage are recognized for their generosity and are able to eat lunch with the very kids they helped at a luncheon on Forward Operating Base Farah, Afghanistan, March 11. Over 130 boys and girls belong to the orphanage and they were all able to benefit from the donations by their fellow Afghans, which included winter clothing, wood burning stoves, soccer uniforms, and shoes. "It's very nice to be here today and to be able to meet some of the kids who we tried to help," said Assanji, one of the contractors instrumental in coordinating the donation to the Orphanage. "I know what it is like to need some help from others and I'm just glad I was able to help these children out." |
