| Description | Far view of the Peace Memorial Park museum in Hiroshima, Japan- much of it was closed for renovation. (thank goodness in a way, I don't think I'd have had the courage to stomach any more- but I did eventually- see subsequent pictures late rin this album). The large pool and a water channel running through the park try to soothe one's nerves somewhat, but what happened here is a human traged of epic proportions, which will hopefully never be repeated again in the history of mankind. Below the arc at the far end is the eternal flame in memory of the atom bomb victims- I did not go close to it as there were far too many people around it all the time. At any rate, I was here on a day trip and still had to check out the Itsukushima shrine (see subsequent pictures later in this album), which is a good hour and a half away by tram. (streetcar).
