| Description |
Black print to the issue of the Faroe islands; 2020; to the 80th birthday of the Danish Queen Margrethe II of Denmark (* 16 Apr 1940). This block (Michel No. Bl.54) is showing a reproduction of the painting by Edward Fuglø (* 1965) with the German title "Vogelsang und Tiersprache verstand sie sofort" (created in 2020) which one has given to the queen as birthday present. (painting with Acryl with Aluminium and Gold on wood, original 177 x 122 cm) The block shows the monogram of Margrete on the left and right side of the painting in combination with the number "80" and the birthday-date. (= "16.04.2020"). The title of this painting is a light changed quotation from the old-Faroese saga "Sjúrðarkvæði" and here from the first song "Regin Smiður". This present was seen as a very elegant present. The black print is numbered and was produced in 1900 prints, from which 1500 were a part of the Yearbook 2020 of "Postverk Føroya" and 400 were sold separately. Stamp picture size: 100.0 x 69.5 mm |
