FM-5 TARGET ROCKET ON PAD 1'S LAUNCHER READY FOR LIFT OFF.

FM-5 IS A MISSILE DEFENSE ROCK BEING PREPARED FOR LAUNCH. SANDIA'S KAUAI TEST FACILITY, OPERATED FOR DOE, IS ON THE U.S. NAVY'S PACIFIC MISSILE RANGE FACILITY ON THE ISLAND OF KAUAI, HAWAII. SINCE 1962 SANDIA HAS SENT SCIENTISTS AND TECHNICIANS TO CONDUCT ROCKET FLIGHT TEST EXPERIMENTS RANGING FROM OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE WEAPONS TESTING TO ATMOSPHERIC STUDIES AND HIGH TECH STAR GAZING.
