Description
English: NASA research pilot Jim Smolka brings NF-15B No. 837 down onto the Edwards Air Force Base runway after the aircraft’s final flight. Smolka flew many of the 251 missions flown by the unique aircraft in a variety of research projects during its 14-year NASA career, and was instrumental in bringing the craft to NASA after its lengthy tenure as a research and developmental test aircraft for the U.S. Air Force and McDonnell Douglas.
