Español: Las formas extrudidas quedan definidas por:
• Una sección o perfil bidimensional (o más). • Una dirección o eje generador. Pero esa dirección puede ser recta, puede seguir una trayectoria curva, sinuosa, quebrada, etcétera(en este caso hablamos de barrido). El perfil también puede sufrir alteraciones conforme avanza en el recorrido, en el caso de la imagen un cambio de escala, pero podemos imaginar giros, transiciones de una forma a otra (en cuyo caso le llamamos solevación) u otros.Euskara: Extrusioak egiterakoan bi aldaerak definitzen dituzte extrusioaren emaitza:
• Ebaketa edo profil bidimensional bat (edo gehiago). • Norabide bat edo ardatz sortzailea. Baina norabide hori izan daiteke: zuzena, ardatz kurbatua, bihurgunetsua, hautsia, eta abar (kasu horietan extrusioari ekorketa deitzen diogu).
