Summary[edit]

Description

PETER HENDERSON fit CO., MEW YORK-
S HENDERSONS
U66ESSI0N
Cabbage
HENDERSON' S SUCCESSION CABBAGE we consider one of our most valuable contribu-
tions to horticulture. It would be classed as a second early variety, coming in a few days
later than Early Summer, but it is immeasurably superior to that variety ; it is of nearly dou-
ble the size and is absolutely true to its type under all conditions. In addition to this, it has no
tendency whatever to run to seed. We can say ■without exaggeration that it is thefineal cabbage
in existence to-day ; whether for medium earl.', main crop or late use, it has no equal. It is so
finely bred and so true to type that in a field of twenty acres every head appears alike.
We can recommend it either for the market gardener, trucker or private planter, as it is a per-
fect cabbage in every respect, not only being of the largest size, but of handsome color and of
the finest quality. It is probably the safest variety for an amateur to plant as it does well at
all seasons, and one is almost sure of getting a crop, no matter when it is planted. Our stocks
of cabbage of all varieties have for years been the acknowledged standard of excellence in this
country, and when we state that we consider Succession to be the most valuable variety that
we have ever introduced, our opinion of its great merit will be apparent to all. We could fill
many pages of our catalogue with unsolicited flattering testimonials that we have received
from all sections of the country in regard to its great excellence. .See cut.)
Price, 10c. per pkt., 40c. per oz., $1.25 per i^ lb., $4.00 per lb.
HENDERSON'S SUCCESSION CABBAGE. ^
WHAT PEOPLE SAY WHO HAVE QROWN IT.
"Let me say a few words about the Succession Cab-
bage. 200 solifi hard heads from 200 plants, 10 to 13
inches in diameter, some weiRhinj;; l.S and 14 lbs. and the
earliest in town. It is the best Caljbaseever raised where
ground is not plenty, for ever.v head counts large. I sold
50 plants which gave the same result: all from one 10-
cent packet." W. W. Edwards, Ellington, Ct.
"Tour Succession Cabbage is the finest I ever planted.
I have one head which measures 18 inches in diameter. It
all heads, and all are large heads."
B. M. Laughlin, Olympia, Wash.
"Tour Succession Cabbage excels all other Cabblige for
this climate and altitude (7,600 feet). I have plenty of
heads now, March 9th, 189G. in my cellar that will
weigh 20 lbs. each," A. V. I'. Day, Buena Vista, Col.
"The two rows of Henderson Succession Cabliage were
worth more than the two dozen rows on each side of other
strains." G. F. Joslin, Tiashokie, N. T.
" Tour Succession Cabbage is the best I ever saw grow
in this country. I got fooled last .vear bv getting from
other parties, and 1 thought I would send direct to you
this year." En Willia.ms, O.sgood, Inil.

It receives nothings but praise
from Maine to California
from Canada to Florida.

and 36 inches in circumference.
Those who have grown it
write :

ever raised."
"Took First Premium."
"Always harvests a good crop, even
when other varieties fail."
"Your Succession is the best winter
keeper."
'Every plant headed, none imperfect.'

"We grew 16 acres of Succession,
S as fine Cabbage as ever grew
lun, lu
ZrOTE.'
-This peerless variety is so well known and so much sougrht after that dealers everywhere are offering the "Succession Cabbagre."
we desire to warn our customers ag-ainst all such, unless the seed is boug-ht front us direct and in our original packages. This is of vital im.

pottance, as many inferior stocks of Cabbage are being offered under the name of ' ' Succession " or " Henderson's Succession. ' '

Public domain

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
