Description
Deutsch: Stolperstein für Erwin (richtig: Edwin) Rümmele vor seiner Wohnung in der Berliner Allee 9, Freiburg-Mooswald. Dieser Stolperstein ist 2015 entfernt worden, nachdem bekannt wurde, dass Rümmele 1938 wegen Geschlechtsverkehrs mit einem Vierzehnjährigen verurteilt wurde. English: Memorial "Stolperstein" for Erwin (actually: Edwin) Rümmele, who was born in 1892, arrested in 1938, convicted in Freiburg, and who survived his internment in the Nazi "Rollwald" labor camp at Rodgau, which accommodated some 1,500 prisoners and 200 guards. Historical researchers have found that roughly ten percent of the Rollwald internees were there on charges of homosexuality. Initially located at Rümmele's residence (Berliner Allee 9) in the Mooswald district of Freiburg, this memorial was removed in 2015 when its sponsors / donors learned that Rümmele had been convicted on charges of homosexual intercourse with a fourteen-year old.
