Description
English: (HONOLULU, Hawaii) - NAVFAC Pacific representatives host a Renewable Energy Awareness brief Oct. 27 during the Pacific Building Trade Expo 2014 held at the Honolulu Convention Center. Erith Evans, NAVFAC Pacific energy manager and Ralph Luca, NAVFAC Pacific capital improvement business line manager, discussed the Navy's aggressive goals for energy conservation, consumption reduction and investments in renewable energy technologies here in Hawaii. Both Evans and Luca spoke of the current state of energy projects, and discussed long-term strategies that will require industry partners' participation. The brief was followed by Evans and Luca fielding numerous questions from the business community in the audience. October in National Energy Action Month, and with more than 100 industry leaders and representatives from around the Asia-Pacific area in attendance at the event, NAVFAC Pacific believes this type of outreach is invaluable.
