Description
English: Epitaph for Samuel Pac in Vilnius Cathedral
Lietuvių: Samuelio Paco (1590—1627) epitafija Vilniaus arkikatedroje bazilikoje. 2,3x4,2 m. Įrengta pietinėje katedros navoje, prie pietinės sienos piliastro 1629—1633 m. Autorius skulptorius Konstantinas Tenkala. Teksto vertimas: Geriausiajam galingiausiajam Dievui. Valdant Zigmantui III, nenugalimjam Lenkijos ir Švedijos karaliui, Samuelis Pacas, Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštystės didysis vėliavininkas, didžiai išgarsėjęs žygiais į Livoniją, Maskvą, Valakiją, taip pat prieš turkų Osmanų imperatorių ir totorių chaną bei puikiai ir dažnai atlikdavęs įvairias kariškas pareigas, būtent – raitelių rotmistro, dalinio ir visos kariuomenės vado, taip pat pasiuntinio su aukščiausiais įgaliojimais, vyras, ryžtingas spręsti ir veikti, dėl tėvynės tiek šlovingų žaizdų ištvėręs, nuo ūmios karštinės, deja, palūžęs, didelei savo valstybės ir savo šeimos netekčiai, užgeso per patį pasiruošimą didesniems darbams, jėgų žydėjime. Šiame kape ilsisi tai, kas galėjo būti palaidota. Mirė 1627 Viešpaties metų sausio 8-ąją, būdamas 37 metų. Steponas Pacas, Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštystės referendorius, iki galo likęs ištikimas brangiausiajam broliui, liūdėdamas [šį paminklą] pastatė
Polski: Epitafium Samuela Paca herbu Gozdawa (1590—1627), od 1621 roku rotmistrza królewskiego, regimentarza, a od 1623 chorązego wielkiego litewskiego. Uczestniczył w wojnie polsko-rosyjskiej 1609-1618. Odznaczył się pod Moskwą, Smoleńskiem, Kirchholmem, Chocimiem i w wojnie inflanckiej. W szczycie herb genealogiczny - zawiera w sobie herb własny Paców, herb Lis Sapiehów (po matce), herb własny Łozków (babka ojczysta) i herb własny Kapustów (babka macierzysta).
