Stammtafeln und Wappen derjenigen Familien deren Angehörige die Bürgermeister- oder Ratswürde der Stadt Stralsund bekleidet haben) ratsverwandt (bzw. das Wappenbild, bereits 1486 und 1487 belegt, herkommend von den kognatischen Vorfahren, dem seit 1438 urkundlichen Greifswald-Stralsunder Ratsgeschlecht Segeberg (vgl. dazu auch das GHdA, Adelslexikon Bd. III, Limburg/L. 1975, S. 150) -der Stammvater Wilken Engelbrecht, Ratsherr in Greifswald von 1489 bis 1502, war verheiratet mit Kunigunde Gnoyen. Der Sohn Joakim Engelbrecht war Ratsverwandter zu Greifswald 1503. Er starb 1544. Verheiratet war er mit Gertrude Segeberg, Tochter des Greifswalder Ratsverwandten Henrik Segeberg. Deren Sohn war Johan Engelbrecht, Bürgermeister von Greifswald im Jahr 1580; pommerscher Landrat, gestorben 1598. War verheiratet mit Gertrude Groenenberg, gestorben 1587. Die Grabplatte mit Wappen des Nachfahren Peter Engelbrecht zu St. Marien in Greifswald, die Grabplatte der Regina Engelbrecht und ihrem Mann Martin Völschow mit Allianzwappen zu St. Nikolai in Greifswald.) Das nobilitierte Geschlecht der Engelbrechten konnte sich späterhin u.a. auch nach Preußen und Bayern ausbreiten und gelangte zu einigem Ansehen. Zweige der Familie bestehen bis heute fort. |
