Description

A photograph of a page out of Encyclopédie, published by Denis Diderot, showing one phase of the operation of making gun-powder taking place in an 18th Century powder-mill. This publication would probably been available to The American Philosophical Society prior to the American Revolution.

This photo is from an original page which is in my personal collection. This photo meets the fair use criteria as this publication was in public domain for over two hundred years.Bigjoe5216 05:00, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
